Suspect Arrested in Man's Death at 902 Lamonte

November 9, 2009 - A suspect has been arrested and charged in the death of a man found at 902 Lamonte about 4 p.m. on Friday (Nov. 6).

The suspect, Justin Wayne Parris (w/m, DOB: 4-18-87), is charged with murder in the 338th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of his grandfather, Johnnie Gonzales-Morales, 81, of the above address, who suffered severe head trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant O.L. Chandler and J.R. Johnston reported:

Family members arrived outside Mr. Morales’ residence to find the suspect, Parris, pacing back and forth in the front yard. A witness then went inside the home looking for Morales and discovered him lying on the floor covered with a blanket.

Parris was arrested at the scene without incident.
