Shooting of Male Suspect at 8102 Gladstone

September 18, 2009 - The shooting of a male burglary suspect at 8102 Gladstone about 10:15 a.m. today (Sept. 18) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The juvenile suspect suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants W.P. Booth and J.C. Padilla reported:

A homeowner, 42, was alone in his residence when he heard noises along the side of his house. The homeowner retrieved a gun, heard the sound of glass breaking, and went to investigate. As the homeowner pulled back a bedroom curtain, he was confronted by the male suspect who was removing glass from the window. Startled, the homeowner fired one time, striking the suspect. The suspect and two other people ran from the scene, but were located a short time later.

The wounded suspect was taken to the hospital. The other two possible suspects were taken into custody for questioning.

The investigation is continuing.
