Suspect Charged in Injury to a Baby at 7936 Laura Koppe

February 12, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested for seriously injuring a baby boy at 7936 Laura Koppe about 4 p.m. on Thursday (Feb. 11).

The suspect, Jordan Thomas Harris (b/m, DOB: 12-19-87), is charged with injury to a child-serious bodily injury in the 183rd State District Court.

The male victim, 11 months, suffered possible internal injuries and was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in an unknown condition. His identity is being withheld at this time.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rubio and Officer E. Schmidt reported:

Harris was left alone babysitting the 11-month-old at a residence at 7936 Laura Koppe while family members were at work and school. When the baby started crying, Harris got angry and caused serious bodily injury to the baby. Harris then called the baby’s family members and lied to them about what had happened. The baby was then taken to the hospital.

Harris was questioned by homicide investigators and admitted to injuring the baby.
