Charges Filed in Fatal Stabbing at 9449 Briar Forest

June 4, 2010 - Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal stabbing of a man at 9449 Briar Forest about 11 p.m. on Thursday (June 3). 

Chodwi Deandre McPeters (b/m, DOB: 10-14-76) is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of a male victim, who suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. M. Cegielski and Senior Police Officer A. J. Palos reported: 

The victim, his girlfriend and her young daughter had just arrived at the girlfriend's apartment and were watching television.  At some point, the daughter went to the closet to get a blanket and found her father (her mother's ex-boyfriend) hiding in the closet.  The suspect, armed with a butcher knife, came out of the closet, stabbed the victim and then fled the scene. 

Further investigation led to the identification of the suspect at McPeters and he was charged.  McPeters has not been arrested and is believed to be in the Houston area.
