Fatal Traffic Accident at Southwest Freeway and Gessner March 29, 2010 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at the Southwest Freeway (U. S. Highway 59 South) service road near South Gessner about 3:30 a.m. today (March 29). The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office. HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer J. Gaime reported: The driver of a white Chevrolet truck was traveling outbound on the Southwest Freeway service road when he struck a white Nissan Frontier pickup truck traveling northbound on South Gessner. A male passenger in the Nissan (the victim) was partially ejected from the vehicle and was killed. The driver of the Nissan was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in an unknown condition. The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in an unknown condition. Both drivers exhibited signs of intoxication and faces charges in this incident.
