Jobs, Resources, and Second Chances -- Turnaround Houston Brings It All Under One Roof!
November 19, 2025 -- The City of Houston Office of Business Opportunity (OBO), in partnership with Workforce Solutions and Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas of District F, will host the Turnaround Houston Job Fair on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Alief Neighborhood Center, located at 11903 Bellaire Boulevard, Houston, TX 77072.
Turnaround Houston is a long-standing workforce initiative dedicated to connecting job seekers—particularly those facing employment and training challenges -- with hiring employers and essential community resources. Attendees will have access to résumé assistance, on-site interviews, skill-building support, and career development tools that prepare individuals for meaningful employment.
Cylenthia Hoyrd, Director of the Office of Business Opportunity, emphasized OBO’s continued commitment to advancing equitable workforce access. “Turnaround Houston has always been about second chances and new beginnings. We know that when job seekers have direct access to employers and supportive resources all in one place, real transformation happens. We remain committed to ensuring every Houstonian -- regardless of their circumstances -- has a fair shot at economic success and a pathway to a meaningful career.”
This year’s event places a special focus on community partnership and neighborhood engagement. By bringing the fair to the Alief Neighborhood Center, OBO and Workforce Solutions aim to make workforce opportunities more accessible to residents where they live. The expanded collaboration ensures that job seekers not only meet hiring employers but also receive practical tools and confidence-building support to take the next step in their career journey.
Council Member Tiffany D. Thomas highlighted the importance of connecting residents to real opportunities for advancement. She stated, “Houston is a can-do city. For many Houstonians looking to restart their lives, the Turnaround Houston program is key to their success. I encourage anyone interested in job resources, on-site interviews, and job training opportunities to join us at the Alief Neighborhood Center.”
Event highlights include more than 25 hiring employers, on-site résumé support, one-on-one conversations with employers, and complimentary haircuts provided by Acres Home Barber College while time permits. Pre-registration has closed, but walk-in registration will be available the day of the event. Attendees are encouraged to bring multiple copies of their résumé, dress professionally, and prepare a brief introduction to make a strong first impression.
