Fatal Shooting at 9000 Long Point

January 11, 2010 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of one man and wounding of another at 9000 Long Point about 2:45 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 9).

The deceased victim, 21, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office. The other victim, 17, suffered a gunshot wound and was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. J. Blain and Officer J.R. Johnston reported:

Two suspects approached and confronted the victims as they were walking on a sidewalk. Both victims were shot. The younger victim was able to make his way to another location where he flagged down a police officer. The suspects fled the scene. Both victims were then taken to the hospital.

The two suspects, described only as Hispanic males, went into a waiting 1998 silver GMC pickup truck with Texas license plates AD6-0167 and left the scene with two other Hispanic males inside the vehicle.
