Investigation into Man's Death, Crash at 11500 Katy Freeway
May 30, 2017 - HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating the apparent suicide of a male that resulted in a crash at 11500 Katy Freeway about 3:15 a.m. on Saturday (May 27).
The identity of the deceased male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer J. Crisler reported:
A witness stated the victim was driving a maroon Ford Taurus westbound on the Katy Freeway when the vehicle struck a concrete barrier, exited the freeway down to the service road and struck an electrical box and pipe fence.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the driver deceased. He had sustained a gunshot wound to the head that investigators believe was self-inflicted.
The investigation is continuing.
