Falls are the leading cause of fatal and nonfatal injuries among seniors. I will be hosting my annual Falls Prevention Awareness Day on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. This year, the event will be held at the Kingwood Community Center, 4102 Rustic Woods Dr., Houston, TX 77345. The program will include exercises to improve our strength and balance as well as other tools and tips aimed at helping seniors prevent falls. Before and after the program, seniors will have the chance to visit with local service organizations, agencies, and city departments. Last year, nearly 100 seniors gathered at two locations over two days in both Kashmere Gardens and Clear Lake for this annual event.
