Regulatory and Neighborhood Affairs

The Regulatory and Neighborhood Affairs (RNA) Committee considers policies and regulations that protect and promote strong, vibrant neighborhoods and encourage the positive development of communities. The committee oversees the Department of Neighborhoods, Administration and Regulatory Affairs, and the Solid Waste Management Department. At-Large Position 5 Council Member Sallie Alcorn serves as Chair of the committee and Council Member Amy Peck serves as Vice Chair.

2022 RNA Committee Calendar, All meetings will take place at on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 10:00 A.M, unless otherwise notified. These dates are subject to change based on the 2022 City Council calendar. The 2022 meeting dates are: January 11, February 8, March 8, April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12, August 9, September 13, October 11, November 8, and December 13. Public comment will take place via teleconference and in-person. Members of the public who wish to sign up to speak must do so by either filling out the online form https://www.houstontx.gov/council/committees/speakers-tti.html or by calling 832-393-3335, no later than 5:00pm on Wednesday, January 26, 2021. Only those who sign up in advance will be able to provide public comments during the meeting.

The RNA committee will meet on Tuesday, January 11 at 10 a.m. in hybrid mode via Microsoft Teams Live and in-person at Council Chambers. This meeting will be broadcast live on the HTV Municipal Channel or can be viewed via the Microsoft Teams Live app at: https://bit.ly/Jan1122RNA. Public comment will take place via teleconference and in-person. Members of the public who wish to sign up to speak in advance must do so by filling out the online form https://bit.ly/JanRNAcomment no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10. In the form, please indicate whether you will be speaking virtually or in person. Public speakers wishing to continue under virtual mode will receive a call-in number that will allow them to speak at their designated time.
