Investigation into Fatal shooting at 3200 Old Spanish Trail


April 12, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and the wounding of a man at 3200 Old Spanish Trail about 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday (April 11).

The female victim, Phillipa Dever, 31, was pronounced dead outside an area hospital.  The male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the arm.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Olive and Detective S. Sylvester reported:

Patrol officers were dispatched to a shooting call with victims inside a vehicle at the above address, the intersection of Old Spanish Trail and State Highway 288.

Officers arrived and learned the driver left the intersection and pulled into the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center.  The driver exited the vehicle and called for medical help.  Ms. Dever was located in the back seat of the vehicle and was pronounced dead.  A male front seat passenger was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for treatment of a non life-threatening gunshot wound.  The driver of the vehicle was not injured.

At this time, there are no known witnesses, suspect(s) or motive in the shooting.
