Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 525 Crosstimbers


December 18, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 525 Crosstimbers about 1 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 17).

The victim, Dequan Donte Anderson, 20, was pronounced dead at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and M. Casso reported:

Mr. Anderson got into his car at his place of employment at the above address and was taking a money bag from the store to the bank when he was approached by an unknown Hispanic male suspect.  The suspect opened Anderson’s car door and tried to grab the money bag.  When he was not successful, the suspect pulled out a pistol and fired multiple rounds into the vehicle, striking Anderson multiple times.  Anderson attempted to drive away and crashed his car into a nearby median.  He was transported to LBJ Hospital where he later died from his wounds.
 
Multiple witnesses stated the suspect ran north on Oxford and got into a dark blue Dodge Avenger, which then fled the scene. The driver of the Dodge Avenger is only described as being a black male.
