Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 9800 Mesa Drive


December 26, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal auto pedestrian crash that occurred at 9800 Mesa Drive about 7 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 24).

The suspect, Maria Hernandez-Rosales (H/f, 55), is charged with DWI in Harris County Criminal Court #12.  A photo of Hernandez-Rosales is attached to this news release.

The identity of the male victim, 59, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer D. Jones reported:

The victim was crossing the road, not in a crosswalk, at the above address when he was struck by a red Nissan Rogue.  He was then transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The Rogue’s driver, suspect Hernandez-Rosales, was subsequently arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated.
