Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 3360 Alice

February 14, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man that occurred at 3360 Alice at about 6:45 p.m. on February 5.  

The suspect, LaFredrick Johnson (b/m, 30), is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of Alvin Reid, 37, of Louisiana, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. Ferguson and R. Ridel reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address.  Upon arrival, they found Mr. Reid in a grassy area of an apartment complex parking lot.  He was pronounced deceased by Houston Fire Department paramedics. 

Witnesses reported seeing a gray four-door sedan leaving the scene.  

Further investigation identified Johnson as a suspect in this case.  He was taken into custody on Monday (February 13) without incident.
