Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 11926 South Wilcrest


February 28, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman at 11926 South Wilcrest about 9 p.m. on Monday (Feb. 27).

The victim, Jessica Lynn Mills, 29, of Houston, suffered a gunshot wound to the back.  She was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Thomas and Officer R. Moss reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a drive-by shooting at the above address.  Upon arrival, they observed the victim, Ms. Mills, had been shot while inside her car and was being attended to by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  

Mills' husband stated he was driving when a a gray-colored Jeep Commander backed into their vehicle.  The driver of the Jeep then fled the scene.  The husband pursued the suspect vehicle, whose driver turned into a strip center parking lot and stopped.  Mills' husband pulled alongside the Jeep and told the driver he was going to call police.  The Jeep's driver then produced a handgun and fired more than once, striking Ms. Mills.  He then fled the scene.

The suspects are described only as two black males, approximately 16-20 years of age.  They were last seen in a gray-colored Jeep Commander with Texas license plates CN5X057.
