UPDATE: Surveillance Video of Suspect in Fatal Shooting at 7322 Lamar


January 5, 2017 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 7322 Lamar about 3:25 a.m. on July 17, 2016.  

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male in his mid 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 210 pounds.  Surveillance video of the suspect, seen walking toward a white SUV from the upper right-hand side of the screen, can be viewed on the HPD YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/vcREzuEO26c

The victim, Francisco Ortega Martinez, 35, of Houston, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  

HPD Homicide Division Officers M. Perez and R. Pemberton reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Houston Fire Department paramedics on scene and treating Mr. Martinez.  He had been shot multiple times and was found lying in the driveway between his truck and his residence. 

A dark colored sedan, unknown make and model, was following Martinez westbound on Lamar just prior to the shooting.  The sedan then fled eastbound on Lamar at a high rate of speed after Martinez had been shot.
