investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7001 Ashcroft

January 9, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men that occurred at 7001 Ashcroft about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday (January 8).  

The identities of both men are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Ridel and R. Moss reported:  

A husband (victim) and his wife were coming home from the grocery store when they were approached by a suspect who demanded their property at gunpoint.  The victim pulled out a weapon, and he and the suspect then exchanged gunfire.  Both men were struck and transported to an area hospital where they were both pronounced dead.  

The investigation is continuing.
