UPDATE: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Man's 2016 Death at 2200 Fannin


January 9, 2017 - Charges have been filed against a man arrested in the death of a male at 2200 Fannin about 2:50 a.m. on March 30, 2016.

The suspect, Mario Lyndell Criss (b/m, 32), is charged with aggravated robbery with serious bodily injury in the 180th State District Court.  A photo of Criss is attached to this news release.

The identity of the victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock, Senior Police Officer B. Evans and Officers M. Arroyo and S. Overstreet reported:

HPD patrol officers were flagged down by passers-by regarding an injured male lying in the street.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male, who was suffering from severe head injuries, to Ben Taub General Hospital.  On April 2, doctors pronounced him dead.

Further investigation led to the identification of Criss as a suspect in this case and, last Friday (January 6), he was arrested without incident.
