Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3400 North Freeway


May 1, 2017 - HOUSTON - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3400 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 3:50 a.m. on Sunday (April 30).

The male victim, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kopulos and Officer R. Singleton reported:

The victim was attempting to change a flat tire on a disable black Nissan Altima parked in a moving lane of traffic at the above address.  The driver of a white Honda Accord parked behind the Nissan in an attempt to provide cover.  The driver of a white Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the Honda that then struck the victim and the Nissan.  The victim died at the scene.  The driver of the Honda and a passenger in the Dodge were transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries.  The driver of the Dodge was evaluated at the scene and exhibited no signs of intoxication. 

There are no charges in this incident as the investigation is continuing.
