Investigation into Shooting at 3500 Oxford


November 13, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male that occurred at 3500 Oxford about 10:50 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 10).

The victim, Andre Gonzalez, 16, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers M. Barrow and S. Ragsdale reported:

Gonzalez and another juvenile male were playing basketball at Burrus Park when they were approached by five unidentified Hispanic males.  One suspect, at gunpoint, demanded the juveniles’ property.  One gave his cellphone, while Gonzalez refused.  Both victims then began running in different directions.  The gunman chased one of the victims, Gonzalez, and fired his gun one time, striking Gonzalez in the lower back.  The suspects then fled the scene in a black Toyota Tundra pickup truck.  The other juvenile, 16, was not injured.  

The suspect is described only at being a Hispanic male with a short beard, about six feet tall and having a heavy build.  He was armed with a silver and black handgun.
