Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 802 Lehman


October 12, 2017 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 802 Lehman at 10:50 a.m. today.

The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Miller and Detective C. Elder reported:

Officers responded to a report of a person shot and found the victim lying in the street.  The victim had suffered a gun shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.  It is believed the victim was walking home from a nearby store on North Shepherd with his purchases when he was approached by an unknown suspect who attempted to rob him of his belongings.  The victim refused to give his belongings up and was shot by the suspect. 

The suspect is described only as a black male, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, approximately 140 to180 pounds and was wearing a white muscle shirt.  It is believed he fled in a small, four-door, white or gray vehicle missing the front, left quarter panel.  Photos of the suspect vehicle are attached to this new release.
