  • Almeda Community Center Closed – April 28, 2025 - Until Further Notice.
    As of April 28th, the Almeda Community Center was closed due to repairs and renovations. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. To stay connected to the HPARD family, please consider visiting our nearby locations for your recreational activities:

  • Castillo Playground Closed – Jan 14, 2025 - Until Further Notice.
    Castillo playground was removed January 14, 2025. Due to age and parts are obsolete.
  • Haden Park Art Pavilion Construction Notice – July 3 - August 16, 2025
    Haden Park will remain open to the public; however, some areas will be fenced off for safety during the construction period. We appreciate your understanding as we enhance your park experience.
  • Linkwood Community Center Closed – Jun 30, 2025 - Until Further Notice.

    Linkwood Community Center: Due to inadequate cooling from the temporary air conditioning units currently in place, Linkwood Community Center is unable to maintain a safe and comfortable indoor environment. As a result, the Summer Enrichment Program has been temporarily relocated to Platou Community Center, located at:

    Houston, TX 77035

    (Approximately 3.4 miles from Linkwood)

    This move is a temporary measure as we work to resolve the cooling issues at Linkwood. All program activities and staffing will continue as scheduled at the new location. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our families and community members during this time.

  • Little Thicket Park Closed - Feb 24, 2025 - At The End 2025.
    Little Thicket Park was closed February 24, 2025 for construction with completion at the end 2025. The specific improvements and upgrades include a fitness node, playground, picnic area, bike racks, benches and new shade pavilion and nature trails. (Additional information here)
  • MKT Hogan Street Pedestrian Bridge Closed - Feb 4, 2025 - Until Further Notice.
    The MKT Hogan Street Bridge was closed due to severe structural damage posing safety concerns. The City is taking immediate action to bring in contractors for repairs. We will continue to provide updates as soon as a timeline for permanent repairs is established. For more information and updates, visit Houston Public Works.
  • MKT Hogan Pedestrian Bridge Closed - Feb 11, 2025 - Until Further Notice.
    Houston Public Works contractors begin the partial demolition of the MKT Hogan Street Pedestrian Bridge. This work requires closing the section of White Oak Bayou Greenway beneath the bridge for an estimated two weeks. Once demolition is complete, the trail will temporarily reopen until permanent repairs or replacement work begins. Detour routes are shown here ( PDF)
  • Selena Quintanilla Perez Park / Denver Harbor Park Trail and West Parking Lot Closed – July 7 - Nov 4, 2025
    The Selena Quintanilla Perez/Denver Harbor Park trail is closed in sections starting July 7, 2025. The project replaces the asphalt trail with a concrete trail. Additional improvements include benches, solar lights and improvements to the west parking lot by the ballfields.
  • Tony Marron Park Close - Jan 31 - Early 2027.
    Tony Marron park is close to the public for construction on January 31st and won’t reopen until early 2027.
