Museum of Natural Science Exhibitions
Discovering the Civil War (October 14, 2011 to April 29, 2012)
The exhibit is divided into 12 thematic areas that combine great original treasures, engaging touch screen interactives and social media tools, selected to illustrate the breadth of the conflict and to ask, "How do we know what happened?" Each area is anchored by an original document, and all the records become powerful tools that let visitors consider and ask questions about evidence; listen to a wide variety of voices; and make up their own minds about the struggle that tore apart these United States.
Discovering the Civil War (March 16 to September 3, 2012)
Titanic and "Molly" Brown are nearly synonymous. Even 100 years later, the compelling story of the sinking of Titanic as well as one of its most famous passengers known as the "Unsinkable Molly Brown," continues to captivate people of all ages. Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, a special Exhibition opening at HMNS, offers a poignant look at this iconic Ship and its passengers through 250 artifacts recovered from the wreck site of Titanic that has never been seen in Houston.
Terra Cotta Warriors (March 30 to September 3, 2012)
Warriors, Tombs, and Temples includes 200 incredibly preserved ancient works of art featuring newly-discovered artifacts unearthed from imperial, royal and elite tombs and from beneath Buddhist monasteries in and around the capital cities of three great dynasties, all located near the modern city of Xi’an in Shaanxi Province.
