| PSRW Essay Contest
Entries for the Public Service Recognition Week Essay Contest are now being accepted. Students from across the area have a chance to compete for college scholarships up to $2,000. We are doing things a bit different this year, and are accepting online submissions. The deadline for entries is March 17th. Judging for the essays will start after that date, and winners will be notified in April. A ceremony honoring the winners will be held in May. So, pick a city job, think about the ways in which you'd complete it, and write your way to free money for college!

The City of Houston has been recognized as one of Houston’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™ by the National Association of Business Resources (NABR). The award, which is administered nationally in five markets, identifies and honors organizations that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource practices and employee enrichment. Nominees participated in a rigorous process that included an extensive survey on various HR practices and metrics, and an Employee Satisfaction Survey. An independent research firm evaluated each company's entry based on key measures, and found the City of Houston to be among the best.
